Trump, apparently speaking from opposite-world, accuses Hillary Clinton of Russia collusion

Another night, another Donald Trump campaign rally, another “lock her up” chant, and another set of Trump lies about a political opponent. Wednesday night, Trump went withThere was collusion between Hillary, the Democrats and Russia.” Yes, he did. Said it another time for good measure: “There was a lot of collusion with them and Russia and lots of other people.”

The guy under investigation for collusion, who has not—no matter how many times he says it—been cleared of collusion, says the person who really colluded is the one who Russia was actively working to defeat by supporting him. Vladimir Putin has said, in Trump’s presence, that he wanted Trump to win the election … but Hillary Clinton colluded with Putin’s government to influence the election? What, against herself? But in Trumpworld, that logic plays. A Clinton spokesman nailed it: “Delusion, not collusion.”

And as Trump’s crowds scream “lock her up” (directed at different women on different nights), he accuses Democrats of being “an angry left-wing mob” or “totally unhinged” or “frankly, too dangerous to govern. They’ve gone wacko.” Between that and the collusion accusation, it sounds like Trump is engaging in some first-class projection. Next thing you know, he’ll be accusing Democrats of having orange spray tans and elaborate combovers.

Trump’s rally, in Erie, Pennsylvania, went on even though a hurricane was hitting Florida at the time. Trump said he didn’t want to disappoint supporters, but one suspects his own ego, hungry for the boost of his supporters’ cheers, was what he didn’t want to disappoint.

Hit Trump where it hurts—by electing Democrats to Congress. Can you give $1 to each Daily Kos-endorsed candidate for House and Senate?
