Hey. Friday again. Another week has come and gone. I suppose we should celebrate the small milestones.
OK, I know we’re all watching the clock already. And most of you haven’t even gotten to work yet! But I’m here to help you pass the time. Well, two hours of it, anyway.
We’ve got an ALL-NEW show for you today. I wasn’t sure I’d make it back to the microphone in time after an early morning appointment, but as you know, I hate leaving you hanging on a Friday without some kind of warning about whatever I think might go haywire over the weekend.
Not that I know how to fix it. I just like to let you know. Seems like a nice thing to do.
So, we catch up on Manafort, look ahead to Michael Cohen’s testimony, revisit PAYGO, and sound some additional alarms (if you have any left) about the coming fights over whatever “report” Mueller might issue, and the still-looming threat of a “national emergency” declaration.
Er… have a nice weekend!
Listen right here at 9:00 AM ET!
PODCAST LISTENERS: There’s a new podcast platform in town, and the big news is: this one pays! RadioPublic pays podcast producers on a CPM basis, for listens on their native app (available for iPhones & Androids), financed by pre- and post-roll ads they insert. Not a bad way to support the show, with somebody else’s money!
So if you’re a podcast listener, please consider downloading the RadioPublic app on your Android or iOS phone. Yes, you can still download directly from their site, or listen to the player embedded here at Daily Kos. But it’s listens in their app that count toward payment.
Nothing changes on our end. It’s still Greg Dworkin, Joan McCarter, and even Armando. Plus also, me. And you! As always, we still want your voice on the air with us. Sit down with your smart phone or other electronic recording device and send us your stories and commentary to share with the audience. There’s no easier way to try your hand at podcasting, without all the hassle!
Of course there’s no substitute for having your support via Patreon, or one-time contributions via Square Cash. (And hey, if you want a cool trick for donating sorta-kinda cost free, get their cash.me app and use this share code to get $5 in your account (plus $5 in mine) when you send your first $5 (to anyone)!
For now, how about one on the house? Here’s what we did last time out, on our previous LIVE show:
David Waldman, as Musical Director for Anomynous Nude Selfie-1, LLC™, just can’t keep it to himself—today’s KITM is such a bop: Previously this week on Trump: The Wall, we saw Donald gently tapping his tiny fists, tippy-tipping out of the big meeting room on his tiny toes. Bye-bye! Turns out you can saw right through Trump’s steel wall. You could always go through it, go over it, go around it, but why bother when it is crumbling so fast? Greg Dworkin informs us that maybe Donald Trump is finally seeing the reality of the situation, or that maybe he isn’t. All that Trump says is incredibly nonsensical and in obviously bad faith, so why does it matter what he says? Oh, yeah, he’s the President still. Trump’s Oval Office address was pure propaganda, but he was “Presidenting”, so the networks fell in line. Making the need for a wall a national emergency is obviously a ruse, and it could put us out of this misery, but at what cost? Diversity aids in the evolution and flourishing of just about everything, including government. The media has to give disproportionate attention to progressives’ misstatements to meet their quota of false equivalence for each news cycle. The collusion case against Trump just got a lot stronger, as we see there was a lot of collusion, and a lot of motivation to collude.
